About Dr. Tamon

For as long as she could remember, primary care provider Malvis Tamon, DNP, knew she wanted to do more than simply heal others – she wanted to care for people. To achieve this vision, Dr. Tamon established LJ Medical Health and Wellness to serve patients in the Chevy Chase, Maryland area. In her core, Dr. Tamon believes in the obligation to care for others; for her, it is inborn, spontaneous, and an inseparable part of her very being. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Tamon believes wholeheartedly that the best way to help her patients feel their best is not only to base their relationship on trust, honesty, but also a true commitment to care.

By establishing a deep emotional connection to her patients, Dr. Tamon believes she is better able to hear their concerns, calm their fears, and build a relationship that forges improved health outcomes. That is why to her, the sick and needy in her care are practically like family, open to the same dedicated love and care that she dispenses to her family.

While she has always considered her educational opportunities a blessing, it has been the lesson in humanity, compassion, and care that has truly transformed her practice and established her as one of the most trusted medical professionals in her community. Her passion and commitment to the craft and calling of healthcare have taken her from a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the prestigious Howard University in Washington, DC, to both a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from George Washington University in Washington, DC.

When she is not in her community promoting positive human interaction and relationship-based healthcare, Dr. Tamon can be found at home with her loving family. Alongside her husband Martin Tamon and their three children, Elijah, Joshua, and Moriah, Dr. Tamon seeks to make a positive impact in the lives of all who she meets, treats, and has the pleasure of serving.
